After pagers and walkie-talkies attacks in Lebanon, Hezbollah blamed Israel for the attacks and said it would take revenge on Israel. Israel has begun massing its forces on the Lebanese border, began airstrikes on Lebanon.
On Friday, both sides exchanged fire on the border and rocket attacks also started. On Saturday night, Hezbollah launched dozens more rocket attacks on Israel, targeting Israeli industrial and military facilities, including Israel’s Ramat David Air Base.
The Israeli military says it has repulsed most of the rocket attacks, but still caused some damage. Israel entered its warplanes into Lebanon and destroyed more than a thousand Hezbollah rocket launchers while targeting several Hezbollah bases there. Rear Admiral Daniel Higari, spokesman for the Israeli Defense Forces, says that after this news, Hezbollah is going to fire, dozens of Israeli planes are currently attacking southern Lebanon. In Israel, sirens continued to sound on Saturday night and into Sunday morning for the first time since October 7. Israel has banned gatherings in most of the areas in the north, including the city of Haifa.
Israel attacked Beirut claiming to have killed dozens of senior Hezbollah commanders. While Lebanon says that 37 people, including three children, have been killed in these attacks. According to the Israeli army, more than 90 rockets were fired at Israel from Lebanon.
On the other hand, America has ordered its people to leave Lebanon immediately. This escalating tension between Israel and Hezbollah could invite a major war.
Neither side is willing to back down. Israel has already wreaked havoc in Gaza. Now Hezbollah is seen as its next target. Israel has moved its military forces from the western side to the northern areas, which makes it clear that Israel is preparing for a major war.
The tension between Israel and Hezbollah is not likely to decrease because no practical role is being played at the international level in this regard. It is possible that Israel will continue airstrikes on Lebanon.
